A spectacular and nice pair of metal bookends by Georges Van de Voorde circa 1930.

They represent , for one ,an allegory to the music and for the other an allegory of the reading.
Green patinated metal,stands on “Green of the Nile” marble plinths.
Signed Van de Voorde on each sculpture and Brig Paris France foundry seal.

He studies sculpture under the direction of Constant Devreese.
