Description

Roland Paris born in Vienna (Austria ) in 1894. He studied at the ” Weimar Kunstschule ” under Henry Van de Velde. He later moved to berlin, where he was a sculptor, graphic artist and cartoonist. Roland Paris is one of the most recognisable artists of the Art Deco world, yet his work remains something of an enigma. His art is caricature-like, bordering on grotesque and he delivers critical perspectives on society’s downtrodden via jesters and devils. His figures are grotesque, funny, mock-crudely executed, extravagant. His work is very sought after by collectors
