Description

Pierre le Faguays is a French sculptor born in Nantes in 1892. He was a pupil of James Vibert. He attracted the attention of the public at his first exhibition due to originality of his dancing subjects.He first exhibited at the Salons of the Societé des Artistes Français in 1922, and was awarded an ” Honourable Mention ” in the Applied Arts section in 1926. He became a leading member of the ” La Stéle-Evolution ” group. He executed a number of decorative sculptures in bronze, bronze and ivory, marble, terra cotta. He also designed a number of figural lamps in bronze with glass or alabaster. He is one of the most important sculptor of the Art Déco period, always very sought after collectors
