Description

Paul Louis Mergier ( 1891-1986 ), studied aeronautics in Paris in 1919.
At the same time he follows the classes of Andre Lhote and Lucien Magne. Passionate about antiques he opens an antic shop in Paris.
From 1925, he devotes himself to enamelling on copper. Its decorations are figurative or geometric.
He is very inspired, like his contemporaries, Jean Mayodon and Rene Buthaud by classical mythology.
It was edited by ” Evolution ” or Arthur Goldscheider “.
He remains one of the most important dinanderie maker of the Art deco period, just like Jean Dunand or Claudius Linossier.
