Superb and extremely rare pair of candelabras by Gio Ponti, for Christofle , circa 1928.
They represent two horns intertwined around an arrow, on a circular base.
Removable bobeches.
Each candelabra pierced for electrification.
Created in 1928 by Gio Ponti, and presented the same year at the Venice Biennale.
They are first marketed in the ” Etains de Carville ” collection and integrated into the Gallia-Christofle collection.
The company ” Etains de carville ” was created by Christofle in 1927, for Christian Fjerdingstad, then this branch opens to other artists as Gio Ponti.
The pair presented dates from the very beginning of their marketing, before they were integrated into the Gallia-Christofle collection.
They are extremely rare.
Rectangular hallmark for ” Etains de Carville ” and numbered 170.
