An extremely rare and fine glass vase by Charles Schneider circa 1924

Oval body vase streched on a round and flat overflowing heel. Ribbed body in absinth green glass tinted in the mass, 14 vertical yellow threads, lower body overlaid in strechted blue glass and foot applied in orange powdered glass

Signed Schneider and Amphora around the base

H     :     17.3″

Good condition ( a bubble bursts inside the vase and some traces of limestone )

All in all, in both their shapes and colors, these pieces reflect the spirit of experiment that pervaded Schneider’s work at the time they were made.This model is very sought by collectors nowadays

Description

Charles Schneider was trained at the school of Gallé then Daum. For nearly twenty years, from 1918 to 1938, he was the only glassmaker, creative, innovative and avant-garde. His contribution to the Art Deco period was considerable. He was a virtuoso technician, a great colorist. Charles Schneider occupies a very important place in the history of artistic creation during the XX° Century
