Description

Pierre D’Avesn is a pseudonym of Pierre Girre. He’s a master glassmaker who worked for René Lalique during 10 years. In 1926 he moved to his own account an produced vases and lamps as these one. In 1930 he joined Daum. In 1937 he’s hired by Verlys. He realized the famous ” Serpent ” vase for René Lalique and other models. He was ,among other, responsable for the execution of the Lost Waxes for the famous collector Gulbekian, work very hard to realise. Trained at René Lalique School, he occupies a very important place among the glassmakers of the Art Deco period
