A superb and extremely rare polychrome earthenware dish designed by Claude Levy for Longwy circa 1930.

It represents a stylized character, holding a bird, lush pattern of trees and birds.
Polychrome cracked and enamelled earthenware, in very good condition.
Edited by Primavera, which was the art workshop of the department store ” Le Printemps ” in Paris.
Stamped Longwy Primavera France and signed Claude Levy.
The dish with a label ” sv verola 1992 9000″

Dish very hard to find, produced in few copies, very high quality of execution.

Description

The Longwy earthenware is renowned for the quality ot its enamel. It works for Primavera during the Art Deco period.
Primavera is the art workshop of the department store ” Le Printemps ” in Paris. It was founded in 1912.
During the Art Deco period, Longwy called upon great artists for the decoration of its objects.
Claude Levy is one of the greatest artist of this period.
Her pieces are extremely rare, and much sought after collectors.
