Jean E Puiforcat  ( 1897-1945 ) is a goldsmith and French designer born in Paris. He joined the family goldsmith company in 1918. It’s under his artistic direction and thanks to his modern and avant-garde creations that the Puiforcat goldsmith’s trade will become famous during the inter-war period. Jean Puiforcat designed some twenty silverware sets in his lifetime, the first date from 1921-1922. Friend of Gérard sandoz, raymond Templier, Jean Fouquet, René Herbst, he participated in the founding of the ” Union des Artistes Modernes “, whose first exhibition took place in the spring of 1930 at the “Marsan Pavillon “. It was a great success. His avant-garde and modern style makes him one of the leading goldsmiths of the XX° Century. He is highly sought after collectors all around the world
