A nice and rare Art Cast patinated sculpture by Max Le Verrier circa 1930

Depicting a young Egyptian girl playing aulos ( ancestor of the oboe in Antiquity).She is partially stripped and wears an Egyptian loincloch.

Original dark green patina, raised on a Vert du Nil marble base

Max le Verrier ( 1891-1973), born in Paris. he was the son of a Parisian goldsmith. He trained as a sculptor, and inherited a small foundry which he built up a successful business, editing a variety of decorative objects by a number of sculptors. He was a full member of the ” Société des Artistes Décorateurs “. He had a stand at the 1925 Paris “Exposition Internationale des Arts décoratifs “,where his display was awarded a gold medal. His work, very fine and elegant,is very sought-after collectors from around the world
