Description

Marcel Andre Bouraine born in Pontoise ( France ). He studied under Alexandre Falguière. Taken prisonner by the German during the 1914-1918 war, he so interested his captors that they gave him many works to execute. In 1922, he exhibited at the Paris ” Salon des Tuileries” . After he began to exhibit at the ” Salon de la Socièté des Artistes Français”. In 1928, Gabriel Argy-Rousseau commissioned a number of figurines from Bouraine, mostly female nudes. Bouraine is one of the most important French sculptor of the Art deco era
