A rare and very important bronze sculpture by Henry Arnold circa 1923

Model created in 1923 and acquired by the “French Ministry of Fine Arts” the same year.From 1928 this bronze is at the “Chambre des députés” in Paris

His daughter,Gisèle,served as a model for this sculpture.
Bronze also called “Girl with Dove”

Dark green and brown patina
Signed Henry-Arnold with Foundry Stamp ” Susse Frères Editeurs Paris” stamped “B”

This nice bronze was then proposed in lower sizes still edited by Susse Frères
Find this sculpture in its largest size is very rare

Description

Henry Arnold was born in Paris ( 1879-1945 ).In 1898 he entered to the “Ecole des Beaux Arts” in Paris.
Between 1900 and 1901, he is in Russia,in Moscow,where he carries out ornemental decoration work.
From 1906 it is a part of the “Bande à Schnegg”.Among this group of sculptor,Charles despiau,Antoine Bourdelle,François Pompon,Jeanne Poupelet etc..
In 1923 is created the”salon des Tuileries”of which becomes the general secretary
In reaction to Rodin’s lively art,he draws a static and calm statuary,composed of clearly arranged volumes,on which slides the light with fluidity
