A superb and impressive patinated bronze sculpture by Claire Jeanne Roberte Colinet circa 1925.

It represents an Egyptian nude female with braided hair, looking down with both arms out-stretched holding a long length of cloth.
Gilded and brown patina on the hair,the cloth, and the plinth bronze.
Bronze base decorated with Egyptian motifs.
A part of the sculpture with original red enamelling.

Description

Claire Jeanne Colinet ( 1880-1950 ) is a Belgian sculptor. She emigrated to Paris, probably around 1910 , where she studied sculpture under Jeff Lambeaux, and exhibited for the first time at the salon des Artistes Français in 1913.
She became a permanent member of the organisation in 1923.
From 1937 to 1940, she exhibited at the salon des Independants in Paris.
His works is influenced by a revival of the Orientalim movement, very popular in Europe.
Colinet’s work is primarily done in the Art Deco style and her models included odalisques, exitic dancers , jugglers or artists of cabaret.
Her works are highly desirable for collectors, she is one of the most important sculptor of this period.
